The release of Syndirella did not go quite smooth, after all - I got quite a few exception reports since the release. Thus, I have to release an updated version, fixing the most common problems reported.
Here's the details:
I'll respond to feedback tomorrow - sorry, have to get some sleep. :-)
Get the binaries and sources at the usual location.
And I really owe a lot of thanks to Francois Planque for his help in testing this version.
Posted by yole at January 18, 2003 01:47 AM | TrackBackCongratulations, yole. Syndirella is an outstanding application. While I'll admit I still miss the look of Amphetadesk a bit, the functionality and ease-of-reading features in Syndirella have made me an instant convert. Mark Pilgrim's comments on diveintomark.org are right on the money.
A few features I'd like to see added in a later release:
* option to turn off the auto-hiding of the feed panel and the article panel when browsing external links.
* option to always have the url bar visible, so I can type an url without having to click through a link in an article first
* drag-and-rearrange sorting of the Feed list
* ability to mark an item as unread.
* option to supply a default stylesheet to be used in the main panel, and per-feed stylesheets.
* toolbar button to jump to the homepage of the active feed
Thanks again, yole. You've improved my newsreading immensely.

As for additional features / feedback. The ability to "select all" and mark as read or unread would be nice.
Thanks!

Posted by: Kevin on January 18, 2003 10:21 AMI have to say it again: Syndirella is great! And 0.9a fixes some of the problems I had with a double buttonbar and inability to add a feed.
My list of feeds and item titles still only display the first letter of the feed/item (as James Kew mentioned in his comment on your previous post). I'm also using win98 and the latest .NET. Hope this helps... ;-)
Ditto: I'm still seeing the first-letter-only bug on 0.9a and .NET Framework SP2. The double button-bar is fixed.
